To achive our goals in 2025 we will:
Train 20 Thana Doulas
Metric: Graduate 20 Doulas through the training portion of the certification program.
10 Doulas >50% Through Certification
Metric: Each person needs 120 hours of hands on experience to fully certify as a Thana Doula. The goal is to have 10 trained doulas (half the projected class) with >60 hours completed in 2025.
Directly Support >135 People Address Total Pain
Metric: The hands on experience will be gained within the community. With >600 hours of support we can help >135 people with at least 4 one on one sessions addressing Total Pain.
Phase 1
Our plan involves several key steps to achieve our goals. First, we will identify candidates who will benefit from the training, particularly those intending to start their own practice or join home care or hospice organizations. We will work closely with local economic and workforce development departments to assist in candidate identification and explore potential funding opportunities.
Phase 2
Once the training is complete, we will collaborate with senior centers, hospice organizations, and palliative care teams at community health facilities to identify individuals who need support. We will utilize the Thana Inc App and the Total Pain Assessment tool to measure, track, and improve total pain scores. Additionally, these doulas will contribute by supporting Death Cafes and participating in the Monthly Planning Series.
